Teacher's Choice Program Renewed
Like last year, teachers and other eligible staff will have the opportunity to purchase instructional materials and supplies for use in their classrooms through the Teacher's Choice Program. To view the titles of teachers and staff who are eligible for the program, and for specific allocation levels in place during the 2016–17 school year, see the Teacher’s Choice Eligibility Requirements. As noted in the eligibility requirements, high school assistant principals who teach at least one class, certain full-time regular substitute teachers, and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) instructors are also eligible for these funds and must submit required certification forms (i.e., High School Assistant Principal Certification Form or Substitute/ROTC Certification Form) by October 14.
In addition, staff members who do not want to participate in the Teacher’s Choice Program should complete and submit this Request for Non-participation (i.e. Opt-Out Form) by October 21. For other key program dates, see here. As a reminder, teachers should retain all receipts and submit them on the scheduled due date (between December 1, 2016 and January 20, 2017), in order to avoid payroll deductions in June.
For updated program guidelines and related forms, see the Teacher’s Choice website. You may also access program FAQs here.
