FAQ for Updated Guidance on Promotion Criteria for Students with IEPs

​There is a new FAQ document on promotion criteria for students with IEPs. As noted in previous editions of Principals’ Weekly, changes have been made to the promotion criteria for students with disabilities, and there is a new implementation timeline on the Special Education page. You should review the FAQ, updated guidance and timeline, and have your special education liaison attend a training with your FSC administrator of special education (ASE). You should also share these documents with your special education staff to ensure that they transition students to standard promotion criteria where appropriate, and use this updated guidance in all future IEP meetings. After your special education liaison attends the training, please ensure that you provide time for them to share the new guidance and supporting documents with colleagues to facilitate implementation.
