Increased Protection for DOE AccountsOn November 5, the DOE will launch a new password reset tool to make DOE information more secure. After the reset tool launches, DOE staff will need to set up three security questions from a list of ten to reset their passwords. The security questions can be set up via the Profile and Password Management tool on or after November 5, or whenever the current password expires. After setting up the security questions, you will be able to reset passwords without technical support by correctly answering your security questions.
For questions, call the DOE Service Desk at 718-935-5100 (Monday–Friday from 6:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). New Teacher Survey for First Year TeachersThis week, the DOE will launch its annual Six-Week New Teacher Survey, which is shared with all active, first-year classroom teachers via their DOE email addresses. You should provide your teachers with computer access and adequate time to compete this survey, and encourage them to complete it by November 13. Their feedback will provide insights into first-year teaching experiences in the DOE and inform new teacher supports citywide. Note that first-year teachers are surveyed citywide twice during the year—at approximately the six-week mark in the fall, and in the closing weeks of the school year. Participation is optional but strongly encouraged, and the results are confidential.
For questions, email NewTeacherSupport@schools.nyc.gov. Grant OpportunitiesGrant opportunities are posted on the Grants website (you can visit the page on any computer using this link). This week’s highlights include:
