TAPCo. Times #27
March 20, 2017
Grant opportunities are posted on the Grants website (you can visit the page on any computer using this link). This week’s highlights include:
June Regents Scoring Per-Session Opportunities
Per-Session Opportunities for School Staff: Note that Algebra I (CC), Algebra II (CC), Chemistry, Earth Science, ELA (CC), Living Environment, Physics, and Global History will be scored partially or fully through per-session opportunities that will be funded and managed by the DOE. Interested teachers and supervisors may now apply for per-session positions at Regents-scoring sites and should do so by April 20. Please share this information with all eligible staff members at your school.
Work-Based Learning Opportunities for Students with IEPs
Training Opportunities Program: The DOE’s Training Opportunities Program (TOP) provides high school students with IEPs, with work-based learning experiences during the 2016–17 school year (up until June), to support their post-secondary goals. Students who participate in TOP will earn minimum wage for up to 100 hours of work each school year. You should encourage your Transition Team Leaders (TTL) to determine the number of internship positions your school can support, and assist students with the completion of this paper application. Completed applications should be scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 7. In supporting students with this application, note that a student’s participation in TOP should complement his/her academic learning experiences and should be aligned to his/her post-secondary goals.
