![]() Grant Opportunities Grant opportunities are posted on the Grants website (you can visit the page on any computer using this link). This week’s highlights include:
§ Funding for Arts Partnerships to Serve ELLs and Students with Disabilities § Arts SPACE Facilities Grants Common Core Professional Development OpportunitiesAs noted in the September 9 edition of Principals’ Weekly, the NYCDOE is offering year-long professional development courses for teachers using ReadyGen, Go Math!, Code X, and CMP3. These courses are led by NYC teachers and focus on effective use and strategic adaptations of Core Curriculum programs to meet students’ needs. Encourage up to two teachers from your school to register here by October 15. The courses will take place over four three-hour sessions after school or on Saturdays.
In addition, please encourage teachers using Go Math! to register here for newly-added technology sessions that cover online components of Go Math!. Sessions will be held on October 11, 18, 25, November 4, and February 18 for both beginner and intermediate level participants. If you opt to send teachers, please note that your school will be responsible for compensating teachers. Funding to support your staff in attending this course, as well as implementing other aspects of the Citywide Instructional Expectations, is available through School Allocation Memorandum (SAM) No. 38. Vacancy circulars (VC) for teachers (VC#577R) and supervisors (VC#576R) that cover participation in Core Curriculum professional development are posted here. Teachers may also choose to take the course for P-Credit. Further information will be provided to teachers who choose that option following registration. |
