Educator Guides for Grades 3-8 Common Core ELA & Math ExamsThe grades 3–8 Common Core exams in English Language Arts (ELA) and math will be administered from April 14-16 and April 22-24, respectively. On December 24, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) published test guides that include information about the content and structure of these exams and detail how the Common Core Learning Standards will be measured.
Sample Questions for the Common Core Regents Exam in GeometryThe Common Core Regents examination in Geometry will be administered for the first time in June 2015. On December 24, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) published additional sample questions for this exam on the Engage NY website.
AgencyREMINDER: 8th period HS teachers are responsible for collecting permission slips and handing them in to Annie. Please encourage students to hand them in!! (If you need more, let me know!) When a student hands in a permission slip, they then receive an "agency pass" from you (the pink paper). Please write their name and grade and sign it (to authenticate it). Encourage students to come every Tuesday for open office hours to monitor their grades on skedula, make academic and social goals, and receive any extra help that they may need in your subject. They CANNOT come to agency without the pink pass. This ensures that we have a permission slip on file for each student. In middle school this is already happening in full swing and it is really working - KIDS ARE INVESTED! We need to make it happen in the high school!!
