School Events & Student Pick-UpThe following must be in place before a student can participate in any afterschool activity:
Parent Permission Slips All students have must have permission letters signed by the parent/guardian and returned to TAPCo prior to the commencement of the afterschool activity. Ms. Annie Torres must have the original permission slips and a copy of a list of all students participating in the activity. Room number must be indicated. If room number is changed, Ms. Torres and/or an Administrator or supervising Dean must be notified immediately. Make sure you have emergency contact names and phone numbers for all students. Parental permission slips must indicate if student will be: (1) walking home (2) taking public transportation to get home, or (3) getting picked up by parent/guardian or other designee on the student’s blue card. Permission slips must state the time an event ends, not the length of the permit. For example, if an after school activity concludes at 6:30 pm and the associated permit is until 7:00 pm, students must exit the building by 6:30 pm to walk home, take public transportation or be picked up by parent/guardian or other designee on the student’s blue card. After School Activities Wrap Up · Before leaving the building at the conclusion of any activity, all teachers working an afterschool class, sporting or any other event, must check in with the onsite Administrator or supervising Dean to advise them that all students were dismissed from their class or event. · For any offsite event that specifies on the parent permission slip that students are dismissed from TAPCo, an Administrator or supervising Dean must be called in case of a delay in returning to school. · A final call must be made to an Administrator or supervising Dean at the conclusion of any event to confirm all students were accounted for and dismissed per the parental permission slip. It is the responsibility of the teacher to secure the phone number of the Administrator or Dean working on the day of the event. · Lastly, an Administrator or supervising Dean must notify School Safety that all students have left the building and are (1) walking home (2) taking public transportation to get home, or (3) have been picked up by parent/guardian or other designee on the student’s blue card. In the event a student is still waiting for pick up, an Administrator or supervising Dean must wait with the child until they are secured. The Danielson Group PDINCLUDES PER-SESSION
