Teacher Times #27
March 28, 2016
2016-2017 Calendar Now AvailableYou may now access the 2016–17 NYCDOE central and school year calendars, which include parent-teacher conference dates, on the calendar page of the NYCDOE’s public website.
In addition to accessing the calendar via the NYCDOE’s public website, you can now use this link to download the school calendar onto your computer and personal smart device. Please note that if you open this file on your NYCDOE-network computer, it will automatically download and save to your Outlook account in the “Other Calendars” section. The downloaded calendar contains schedules for the remainder of the 2015–16 school year, summer 2016, and the entire 2016–17 school year. Any previously added NYCDOE Outlook school calendar will become obsolete at the end of the 2015–16 school year. Historical Assessment Data Now Available in Student Profile and NYC Schools Account (NYCSA)Student Profile is now available. Student historical assessment data is now available in Student Profile, as well as to parents through their NYC Schools Account (NYCSA). Users of both systems have the option of viewing current or past years’ assessment data by clicking on “see middle/elementary school assessments” or “see high school assessments”:
You are encouraged to use the historical assessment data as you discuss students’ academic progress with parents during parent engagement time. You should also work with your parent coordinator to support parents with NYCSA if they have any questions regarding information in their account. Note that both Student Profile and NYCSA users may submit suggestions or requests for application enhancements using the “suggestions” link found in both systems; parents may also email nycschoolsaccount@schools.nyc.gov to submit their suggestions or requests. For additional resources, see the Student Profile wiki and NYCSA wiki. If you have immediate questions regarding parents/guardians’ NYCSA, you should contact the Service Desk at 212-374-6646. For questions regarding Student Profile, contact your BFSC academic policy and systems lead. |
