In order to ensure that students are accounted for at games or performances that happen off-site, the following must be followed:
Requirements for Continuing Education for PedagoguesThere are new registration and continuing education requirements for classroom teachers and school leaders who hold a Permanent or Professional certificate, and for Teaching Assistant Level III certificate holders:
o Beginning on July 1, 2016, if your certificate was issued prior to July 1, 2016, you must apply for initial registration during the 2016-17 school year during your month of birth, and renew your registration in the last year of each subsequent five-year period thereafter. o If your certificate was issued on or after July 1, 2016, you will be automatically registered, and you must re-register during the fifth succeeding birthday month thereafter and during each birthday month in the last year of each subsequent five year period. o You are required to successfully complete 100 clock hours of acceptable continuing teacher and leader education (CTLE) during the registration period. CTLE completed during a prior registration period may not be carried over. Read more at the New York State Education Department website.
